This divsion provides legal advice and services to University administrators, faulty, student and staff in the performance of their official duties. We assist with open records requests, compliance-related university training, employee and student grievance processes, and all other areas that have the propensity to bring legal risk to the university. Legal affairs provides guidance to matters that include, but are not limited to, the following\uff1a<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003300\">Helping to resolve disputes, claims, and litigation relating to student&#8217;s affairs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003300\">Legal drafting and interpretation of complex regulations, contracts and policies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003300\">Providing legal advice, counseling, and training to faculty &#8220;staff &amp; student&#8221;.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003300\">Providing advice on proposed collaborations with external entities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u203bPlease note that the Legal Affairs Division cannot provide legal advice to employee, faulty, or students on personal legal matters, such as criminal matters, family or estate matters, or tax matters.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Legal affairs serves as the university\u2019s in-house legal counsel.
