Legal affairs serves as the university’s in-house legal counsel. This office provide legal advice and services to University administrators, faulty, student and staff in the performance of their official duties. We assist with open records requests, compliance-related university training, employee and student grievance processes, and all other areas that have the propensity to bring legal risk to the university. Legal affairs provides guidance to matters that include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Helping to resolve disputes, claims, and litigation relating to student’s affairs.
- Legal drafting and interpretation of complex regulations, contracts and policies.
- Providing legal advice, counseling, and training to faculty “staff & student”.
- Providing advice on proposed collaborations with external entities.
